Key Activities

Implementation of a new Learning Management System

As Manager, Learning Infrastructure at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, I led the implementation of a major upgrade to our Learning Management System (LMS) to improve onboarding, learning and development for all staff.

This project was delivered on time, within scope and under budget. In this project we successfully:

  • Enabled more sophisticated learning management capabilities, allowing for rapid training and accreditation of clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • Reduced administrative burden for leaders through the automated assignment of mandatory training for staff based on their job role and work location.

  • Optimised the overall manner in which learning packages are presented, completed and tracked for all staff across the full spectrum of their healthcare career.

  • Delivered contemporary integrated information systems that improved clinical and corporate outcomes by allowing users to access the LMS from any location, using all supported devices.

  • Contributed to innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery by migration of 375 courses from the legacy LMS to the new one, reducing manual workarounds for accreditation requirements and automation of mandatory training allocation to staff based on their job role and work area.

  • Reduced administrative activities associated with event management and scheduling, enrolment and attendance for face-to-face learning activities.e
